Notes for OAKLEY KILGORE: His Obit; Oakley M. Kilgore, 89, of Graysville RD 1, died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22,1998, in Beverly Health Care in Waynesburg. He was born Feb. 15, 1909 in Nineveh (Deerlick), a son of Lawrence Artie & Elizabeth Braden Kilgore. Mr. Kilgore resided in Kissimmee, Fla., for 25 years and then resided in Baltimore, MD. before returning to Greene Co. in April 1994. He worked for Rheems Heating & Air Conditioning in Baltimore for about 20 years, and retired as a carpenter for the Owen Yaught Co. of Baltimore after 8 years of service. Mr. Kilgore was a U S Army veteran of WW II and he was a Baptist. His wife, Nola Connely Zinn Kilgore died March 12, 1985. Surviving are a brother Ralph F. Kilgore of West Finley; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Verbia Anderson, is deceased. Notes for NOLA CONNELLY ZINN: Nola had a daughter prior to marring Oakley. The daughter had a son (Names unknown at this time). This was imparted to me at Rush Funeral Home, (Oakley's death) by Ralph Kilgore Oakley's brother. He also stated that Nola & Oakley met in a factory in Baltimore after the war. The factory made metal 5 gal. galvanized buckets.
