Will Knowing I have come to the age when
of life is very uncertain & also have
Wm. H. Lester come near to its close & that my earthly interest
should all be arranged I now write my Last Will & Testament.
First, of all, I bear testimony to my belief in the Gospel of the Lord
Jesus Christ, the preaching of which has been the glad work of my life, and
that I am relying only to the merits of my Crucified Savior for the world to
come.
2nd, I give to my daughter Hadassah, the house in which I now reside in
West Alexander in fee simple, tp sell & dispose of as, she may think best, I
also give to her in fee simple, two One Thousand Dollar Bonds of the Grand
Rapids & Indiana railroad. Inasmuch as my father Richard Lester in 1879 left a
legacy of one hundred dollars, on which no money principal or interest has
been paid, I further give her the sum of three Hundred Dollars out of my estate
before any division is made.
Third, I give to the Presbyterian Boards of Home & Foreign Missions-
Offices 156 Fifth Ave., New York City, Fifty Dollars each.
Forth, I direct that my funeral expenses & other debts be paid from
money or deposit in the West Alexander Nat'l Bank.
5th, I bequeath to my son, Nathaniel, money on deposit at Dollar
Savings Bank, Pittsburgh, Pa. Also I give him $500, a bond given by the Dayton
Investment Co., Minnesota.
It is my wish the money in Dollar Savings Bank, remain there as a
permanent deposit, the interest drawn by him when due.
6th, I give to my son, William & daughter, Hadassah, the remainder of
my property, share & share alike, consisting of Bonds & Mortgages & real estate
at Bridge Hampton, New York, paying on the sale of property $1,000 to Nat'l.
7th, I give to my three nieces, daughters of George & sister, Nancy,
two hundred dollars, each on the sale of said real estate and if she be living
when the real estate is sold to Mrs. Hatty M. Lester, one hundred dollars.
8th, as her mother requested--I give to my daughter, Hadassah, all my
household furniture, to Nathaniel, my gold watch & to William, my gold head
cane & books.
9th, I appointed, my daughter, executor of this my Last Will &
Testament, with out appraisement of bond.
